Devin Stoneking is a sophomore and a member of the basketball team.

Stoneking is one of the team’s many versatile players. He plays both guard and forward, so he must have a broad skillset to be able to make an impact in the games.

“I really like playing both guard and forward,” Stoneking explained. “It really nice that I can be everywhere on the court throughout the game. It helps me become a more well rounded player on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.”

This year is far from Stoneking’s first year on the hardwood. He has been playing for about nine years now, and he has enjoyed it ever since he first came out for youth basketball. He also shared why he came out for basketball in the first place.

“When I was younger, I saw some of my older friends playing basketball,” said Stoneking. “Then the next year, I decided that I wanted to try it out. Ever since then, I’ve been in love with the game and I’ve had a blast.”

Stoneking mentioned that he loved the game of basketball. The question is, what makes him love the sport? Every player’s reasoning is different, so Stoneking explained why he loves the game so much.

“The feeling of going out there is like no other. I love running out on the court with our warm up music playing and just getting so hyped,” says Stoneking. “I just get so pumped to get out there and play for every game.”

Stoneking believes that if the team works together well and has good chemistry, they will be successful this year. They hope for a playoff berth and a good record for the season.
