Brooke Weir – Athlete Biography
Brooke Weir is a senior and a member of the track and field team.
Weir is a fourth year member of the varsity track and field team. She participates in the long jump, and 100 meter run.
“In my event long jump I normally jump around 15.5 feet,” said Weir. “Also, for the 100 meter run I run about 12-13 seconds.”
There are many things that Weir does to get ready for a track meet. Ranging from doing team warm-ups to doing her own warm-ups after.
“I really don’t do my own warm-ups, normally I just relax and think about all of my events,” said Weir.
Weir has done really good things in her track and field years. She has qualified for sections a few times. She also has many great memories while being on the track team.
“Junior year I qualified for sections for long jump,” said Weir. “A great memory I have is when our track team went to qualifiers and we all played ultimate frisbee against the other schools there, and winning against them.”
Weir had many thoughts of not doing track and field her senior year, but she had great friends who pushed her to do it. “My friend Sydney Kovach convinced me to do it one last year.” Weir gave great advice for the new students joining the track and field team in the new years to come. “Always work hard and don’t stop if you don’t get it right the first time.”
