Brooke Diamond – Athlete Biography
Brooke Diamond is a senior and a member of the varsity softball team.
Diamond is a fourth year member of the softball team. Her current position is the catcher for this year. She had to change her positions due to losing people for last year. Diamond used to play in the outfield as a middle, but now loves her spot as catcher.
“A great memory I have is when we won the WPIAL, even when others said we couldn’t,” said Diamond. “I had the highest batting average that game too.”
There are many great reasons why Diamond wants to keep playing softball throughout high school. She has played since she was in elementary school till now.
“I keep playing softball because it is one thing that I really love,” said Diamond. “Getting out there and being able to be with my team is also another reason why.”
Throughout her years Diamond has had some bad days during the seasons. Diamond then realized what she needed to do to help her get better and stay where she needs to be. Working harder and practicing more really helps her out.
“Last year when we played Carmichael’s my batting was not very great,” said Diamond. “When I don’t do good, I just go and hit a lot and practice catching pitches.”
As Diamond plays her last games as a high school softball player she gives great advice to the freshman and new kids joining or moving up from middle school. “Never give up and always play to your potential,” said Diamond. Diamond plans to attend California University in the fall. She also plans to play softball for the softball team at California University.
