Autumn Gustovich is a freshman and a member of the softball team.

This is Gustovich’s first year on the high school softball team, although she has been playing softball for nine years. There are times that she still gets nervous before games.

“I am nervous about playing against West Greene this season because they are a good team to go up against,” said Gustovich.

Gustovich often plays first base or is the catcher. She really enjoys playing the field, although when she catches she has to squat, which she does not always enjoy. There are always aspects of the game that are harder than others.

” I struggle the most with hitting because you have to stay planted and not lunge, but I always like to lunge,” said Gustovich.

Even though the season has just begun, she has made many memories. There are always chances to make great memories while on a team full of friends. The memories made while on the field are memories that athletes will always keep with them and the good ones always out weigh the bad ones.

Gustovich said, ” One of the most rewarding parts of softball is that I get to play with my friends and have a good time.”

Gustovich is hoping to have a great season and maybe even make it to playoffs. The team works and plays hard and will hopefully make it far this season.
