Autumn Gustovich – Athlete Biography

Autumn Gustovich is a senior and a four year member of the varsity volleyball team.

Gustovich bares the number 15 on the court and plays at the position of setter. She has worked non-stop and very hard to earn and cement her place at her position. It requires skill and precision, which Gustovich has in spades.

“I really love having the chance to play on such an amazing team,” said Gustovich “we are really just a big family at the end of the day.”

The off-season is very important in any sport but none more than volleyball. They had open gyms weekly to have general practices and bond with the team. This also gives a low pressure environment to try new techniques and methods to the game.

“We had open gyms weekly,” said Gustovich. “Those really help the young members get to know the returning player and get to know the style we play”

They have a very difficult schedule and hope to win the section this year. The team looks very strong at every position and has a good chance to go deep into playoffs, but to Gustovich none are more important to the teamĀ  than the Carmichaels and Giebel CatholicĀ  games.

“Those are the most important games to us because Carmichaels is a rival game for bragging rights,” said Gustovich. “Giebel is probably the best team in our conference”.

Gustovich has some advice for the younger girls on the team.

“Always give your best because out there on the court you are apart of a family.”
