Is IUP the Place to Be?
On Wednesday October 5, the College and Career Exploration class took a tour of IUP along with chaperones Mr. McGrath and Mrs. Herold. Students toured the campus, attended an admissions presentation, and ate lunch at the IUP student cafeteria. The College and Career Exploration students will also take future tours which include WVU, Robert Morris, and W&J.
IUP’s school colors are crimson and gray, so show your IUP pride!
44% of students surveyed explained that they are not considering IUP to attend, while 56% said they were considering IUP. Senior Kayla Takash says, “It was a nice school, but didn’t have what I wanted.” Takash and many other students express that one major concern about college is cost and affordability.
On IUP’s main website it says, tuition has been lowered by almost %20-%32 for most students.
Many students are considering different schools, like WVU, Robert Morris, Penn State, and Pitt. Most schools being considered are not too far away from many students homes. Senior Preston Wood says “I am looking for a college not too far away from home.” Being far away from home was another major concern students would face when heading of to college. IUP expresses that being at IUP can feel like “Home Away from Home.”
Did you know? IUP was ranked #2 for Public University in PA, as well as #5 for Best College for Veterans.
