A life-threatening, category five, hurricane called “Milton” tensed immigrants throughout Florida severely because the storm was anticipated to arrive quickly.
Recently, in the first week of October 2024, immigrants from and around Florida evacuated and were stationed at a school-turned-shelter for a tremendous hurricane called “Milton,” which forced families and individuals into terror and threatening situations close to death. While people waited and anticipated, Latin Americans, Africans, and any Spanish speakers sought refuge in Tampa and Orlando temporarily because until the hurricane hit, anyone who lived as a target would’ve lost his/her house, leaving him/her homeless and abandoned. Furthermore, jobs like hospitality, construction, agriculture, harvesting, etc were utilized consistently, so after the hurricane landed, people’s futures; which relied on those jobs, were destroyed and restricted for use. Additionally, technology or television was announced and successful in certain areas, so during the anticipation, levels of anxiety, suffering, starvation, etc were escalating quickly. Replying to refuge areas, Orlando and Tampa weren’t successfully sought out because of lacking internet, communication, and the freedom to enter cities; state policies criminalized bringing people into the city/state without permanent legal status.
Briefly, a toxic, disastrous hurricane called “Milton” demolished lifestyles, forced anxiety to rise, lives to decline, and employment to decrease, leaving the state of Florida in devastation. The link Hurricane Milton shall be used for a more profound explanation.
