The government should have the right to force companies to unlock phones for many reasons. One reason is that by being able to unlock people’s phones, it can solve a lot of problems if there was an issue with the law. This should not be an issue because if people do not want people to unlock their phone, then there is probably something on their phone that should not be on it. For example, if there was a criminal that had all kinds of information on their phone,  by just unlocking their phone, it could avoid many crimes and issues.

Apple should not entirely have to follow these demands, because it is their company, and they would probably lose a lot of their customers if they agreed to do this. Apple also has a contract with their customers that say something about the customer’s privacy, so if they were to comply with this demand, it would not be fair.

There are pros and cons to having navigational tracking. The benefits of having this is that if someone was not able to be found and they had their phone with them, they could easily be tracked and found by using this. In fact, this could save a lot of lives if the circumstances fit. Then of course there are many downfalls to this. One is that people may not want themselves to be navigated by certain people. So there are both goods and bads if this law was to come, but there would be more good that came out of it.
