High School Credits
Just like every school Students need a certain amount of credits to graduate. Students need a certain amount of English credits, Math credits, History credits, Science credits and PE credits. If a student does not get all the credits for each subject they will not pass. Even if a student has over the amount of credits they need, if they do not have the right amount of PE classes they very well could not graduate. They will have to retake that entire grade, sadly.
In my opinion students should not have to be forced to take PE for a certain amount of times to graduate. They should just make it so that if overall you have enough of credits then you should be able to graduate. Simple as that. I’m not saying “oh take away gym completely” but if you do not get as much credits as a student should for gym, but they have more than enough credits over all then that student should be able to pass. A main reason why is because some students have been putting PE on their schedule because in order to graduate they HAVE to take it. Well even if you do put it on your schedule and you really need it they still may not give it to you. By doing so that messes with you in the long wrong because then you are FORCED to take it for a whole year. Some juniors, including myself, HAVE to take it for a full year next year or else they will not graduate. Scary thing is they could put it on their schedule and possibly not get it, Then they go down to change the schedule and either A.) the class is full or B.) there are no classes for the time you desire (which then could messes with your main classes.) or C.) you may not be able to take it for the full year. Schools force you to take gym, but when you ask for it you are not guaranteed it. ALso if they want children to take gym (the ones that need it) then why allow the students that already have enough gym credits be in there? By doing so the student that really needs it cannot be in there because it’s filled, when most of the kids in there have enough credits.
Point blank they should make it so regardless of how many PE credits the student(s) have they should still be able to graduate. If they have enough credits over all, at the very least be a more flexible with the requirements.
