Lego Marvel's Avengers Game Review

LEGO has been making their own video game versions of movies for quite some time now. They are favored by younger kids. Lego Marvel’s Avengers is the newest addition to the Lego games series. This game is wacky, enjoyable and family and child friendly like the past Lego games.

Lego Marvel’s Avengers is an Xbox One and Playstation 4 game. It is also for last gen gaming consoles as well. It features local co-op game play that will bring fun to more than one person at once. Two players can work together to beat the game which is a great way to beat the game in a quick manner. The camera isn’t split like it would be with most other local co-op games, the camera focuses on both players in the same room at the same time, though when the two players separate the screen will split to make things easier. The camera mechanics for this game is very simple, making the game seem to play more smoothly.

Lego Marvel’s Avengers’ story mode isn’t put together very well. The game is not played in chronological order which can be very confusing. The plot is very mixed up and not right. There’s a lot of work that should’ve been done prior to releasing this game. The story mode is pretty much a jumbled mess.

There was a lot of unfortunate things done to Lego Marvel’s Avengers that could’ve been fixed to make the game a little bit better, one for example is the dialog and audio mix. There were attempts at keeping the game as similar to the movie as possible that there were lines thrown in straight from the movie and it sounded very unnatural. Some dialog sounded very dull and unenthusiastic compared to some of the newly recorded lines for the game. The sound effects are good and have good quality behind it so thats a pretty positive thing. The audio is definitely one of the most disappointing things this game has to show.
Lego Marvel’s Avengers is a good game for kids, the game is funny, easy to play and enjoyable. When looking at the detail of the game, the audio is messed up and the plot is jumbled up and messy. There’s definitely more good than bad in this game, the plot and audio just make a game what it is. This game could’ve had a higher rating by IGN if it had better audio and a more put together plot. This game was rated 6.7/10 by IGN.
