Water fountains are a great thing in schools, however it can be a burden to teachers and even students. How? Well its simple, a student bugs their teacher to go get a drink, then the student is out there for a bit to drink out of the fountain. Its not as convient as its suppose to be, one reason why is because maybe one sip just isnt enough, maybe the students throat is extremely dry. Then what? The student asks to go back out?. Also water fountains are not the most sanitary thing, they carry a ton of germs that could very well getr you sick in some way. But luckily there are two simple solutions to that problem.

One solution is that the student brings their own drink to class each day. It will be convient for both the student and teacher. It is convient for the student because they do not have to ask their teacher to leave class and possibly miss something to go get a drink, it is also convietn because if there throat is scratchy then the drink is right there for whenever you need it. Plus, you have a less chamce of getting sick, because you wont be getting a drink of the, possibly, unsanitary water fountain.

The second solution are vending machines. Im not talking about having pop in there because thats not exactly the healthiest. It does not always have to be soda, it can be something like gatoraide, propel, water or even viatmin water. There are a ton of subsitituions for pop. This would be convient for those kids who forgot there own drinks from home, instead of having water fountains they should have vending machines, not just any regualr vending machine. Remeber those school ID’s the school gave the students and staff? Why not use that to pay, as in you pay for a drink and it adds onto your lunch account. Or you can just simply bring in money from your home. This would be way more convient and a more sanitary choice. Plus it would be a good way to even get some money for the school. Also yes, I know theres a vending machine out in the front lobby. But it does not exactly have good choices, nor does it work all day. Plus its pretty far away unless youre in gym or one of the music classes when you want to use it. By putting some vending machines in the hallways it would be a shorter distance.

Even though the vending machine idea may be a bit expensive the school can do multiple things to raise money for it. Why not hold a fundraiser of some short, students would fundraise for that with out a doubt. I know I would.
