Safe Skiing
The most important thing when skiing is to be safe. Skiing can be very dangerous because of ice and even things in the way, like trees and other skiers. When the sun goes down, the temperature drops, causing everything to freeze. This causes ice and ice is very slick and hard to stop on. A safe thing to wear is a helmet. A helmet will save someone from a concussion or head damage. Trees are all throughout the slopes and if not careful they could cause the end to a ski trip. Being safe and knowing one’s surroundings is important and should not be overlooked.
When I ski I always wear a helmet especially if I go in the parks and hit jumps or rails. I never ski without a helmet because I do not feel safe. Anything could happen so I make sure I am prepared for anything. I’ve hit ice patches coming down the slopes and could not stop. A helmet in my opinion is a great way to stay safe and make sure I keep going back.
When I go in the parks I hit rails and jumps so skiing becomes more dangerous. Hitting my head on a metal rail can really be damaging to my head so I make sure I have a helmet on. My friends who ski are the same way. We like to be safe and have fun so we can keep doing it. My friend, Mason, broke his helmet last time he went skiing so he made sure he got another one as soon as he could.
Pro skiers wear helmets because they do dangerous things. When they wear helmets they set a good example for younger skiers who look up to them. Helmets allow everyone to stay safe and they are worth buying.
