People say once you hit a certain age you will mature or begin to. Honestly that is not 100% accurate. Also people think mature means an entirely different thing than what it actually means.

For example, when my sister and I “act up” my mom tells me “ grow up shanyce and mature.” You can still be silly and funny and be grown up, people think “oh you joke around and make jokes, you are not mature enough.” Which is not always true, what about stand up comedians? They are funny and full of jokes AND mature/grown up. The actual definition of mature is fully developed physically; full-grown. That really does not have anything to do with the way you act or if you tell jokes or not.

I don’t know about you, however i would much rather be the silly person i am instead of 100% serious nearly all the time. Being silly and such makes everyone else around you happier and smile. Being completely serious all the time can very well be depressing some days. Honestly if making jokes and such makes me “immature” then hey, guess I am immature!

I am not saying like “you can either be immature or mature.” My mother is “immature” at times, she makes bad jokes and that is okay. If you are :immature
