Fright Night
Phantom Fright Night is the time of late September and all of October that Kennywood Park in West Mifflin transforms its amusement park into a giant haunted house. This park operates on Friday and Saturday from 6:00 p.m-12:00 a.m, as well as two Sundays, October 7th and 28th from 6:00 p.m until 11:00 p.m.
The unique thing about this haunted house, though, is that most of the rides are still under operation. Some of the rides are also altered a bit to fit the theme better. For example, the Exterminator has all of its lights out, so that it takes place in complete darkness. Along with this, areas of the park are turned into mini haunted houses with live actors.
The 4-D theater, which typically plays something family friendly, now plays Friday the 13th, based on the movies featuring Jason, a serial killer. The movie displays some scenes from the movies, including the murder scenes. The movie is in 3-D, but also has features with the chairs and water, making it an exciting, yet terrifying experience.
Overall, the time spent at the park is likely to be a good one, as long as you’re in for a little scare.
