For more than 98 years, National 4-H Congress has been a premiere nation-wide opportunity for 4-H members across America.  Originally held in Chicago, the event is now held in the “Capitol of the South,” Atlanta, Georgia during the Thanksgiving break. This years took place from November 23rd through November 27th at the Hyatt Hotel in Atlanta. This year 44 states attended varying in the number of delegates.

Junior, Madison Kovach, attended the 4-H National Congress representing Greene County and had an awesome time . “It was such a life changing experience and I so wish I could do it all over again,” said Kovach, “Every moment I was learning new things and making new friends. One day I hope to see them again and maybe even visit their home.”

The 2018 4-H National Congress design team was made up of 8 youth members from across the United States and Puerto Rico! This years design team consisted of Angel Austin (Georgia), Jordan Blue (Wisconsin), Lauryn Ige (Hawaii), Nicolas Ryan (Massachusetts), Carson Fulks (Ohio), Madison Shaw (Pennsylvania), Valeria Alvarado (Puerto Rico), and Jordyn Gallegos (New Mexico).

4-H National Congress had many guest inspirational speakers such Nia Imani Franklin (2019 Miss America), founder of “Samaritan’s Feet” Manny Ohonme, global adventurer John Beede, and many more. The 4-H National Congress delegates participated in hands-on workshops, community services across Atalanta, dances, special tours, and much more!
