Baking desserts becomes more popular around the holidays. Each holiday has its own specified flavor that is normally incorporated. During the fall season, it is most likely pumpkin along with a dash of cinnamon. Normal desserts such as cakes, cupcakes, and cookies become filled with pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, and more.

Pumpkin spice was originally created in 1934 by McCormick & Company. However, it didn’t become the flavor of fall until the early 2000s. It was given the flavor of fall due to a popular coffee shop, Starbucks, introducing the flavor onto its fall menu. Ever since then, it’s become wildly popular throughout the time of fall.

One of the many popular pumpkin flavored desserts are pumpkin cupcakes specifically topped with cream cheese icing. These cupcakes can be described as soft, fluffy, and amazingly delicious especially with the not too sweet icing. There are thousands of different ways to make this dessert. However, the cake part of the cupcake is usually made with ingredients such as pumpkin puree, flour, eggs, baking soda, sugar, cinnamon, and oil while the icing is made with only four ingredients. It’s made with cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla icing. Usually, these cupcakes can be made quickly and are able to be made ahead of time for a get together or event.

However, you don’t always have to leave the cupcake just topped with the icing. These cupcakes are able to be decorated with almost anything from sprinkles to different types of syrup. This is just one of the many easy, but delicious desserts that fall has welcomed. A great recipe for this dessert is Natasha’s Kitchen.
