Jefferson-Morgan High School will be inducting 16 students to the National Junior Honor Society on March 9th, 2016.

The NJHS is an organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. Not just any middle school students, but ones who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.

For a student to become a member of the NJHS they must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. A faculty council comes together to access students’ experiences in the other areas. To uphold their position in the NJHS a student must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. They must also demonstrate and uphold the other areas of leadership, service, character, and citizenship.

During an induction into the National Junior Honor Society, the president of the organization introduces the areas of excellence. The new inductees are called up by the secretary and they will receive the NJHS membership. The 2016 valedictorian gives a speech along with a few others. After the induction parents and students can enjoy light refreshments.

The people who are all involved in helping with the National Junior Honor Society are the advisor, Ms. Shaffer, Ms. Newhouse, Mrs. Huba, the faculty council, custodians, past members, and Mr. Corbett.
