Here at Jefferson Morgan, the students are very excited for the upcoming spring sports. Many of the students here are getting very anxious about their favorite sports that they participate in the spring, like baseball, track, and softball. Most of the students want to do the best they can because most of the athletes are seniors and for most of them this could be their final year in sports.
Spring can be a very fun time for many students and is certainly one of their most favorite. The weather changes and the students can finally start training or practicing for their spring sport. “I love the weather it just helps me accomplish so much more,” said Nick Teeagarden about how the weather affected his performance during spring. Teegarden participates in track and excels at the sport very well. Teegarden quote, “I wish I had one more year,” he said this because this is last season of the sport and everyone wishes him good luck this year.
Not only does the weather affect the sports during spring but academics also play a big role in the spring. “I have to keep up my grades, or I won’t be going to the next meet,” said Aaron Mylan on why his grades matter during the spring. Mylan runs track and won 3 medals at sections last year and would hate to have his grades bring him to a stop from having another excellent season.
In conclusion, spring sports are just like any other sport during high school, students have to be aware of the weather that is taking place and their grades. Spring sports can also be a beneficial factor as well, as many of the students find the sports to be more challenging and helps them improve their overall health and mind during the last few months of school.
