The spring time has arrived and that means that sports and warm weather are on the rise. In the spring time, students love not only the weather but the advantages it has during the sports they play. A new track and field season has begun and the athletes, who participate in the sport, are all getting back into the game they love to play.
A new season has been brought up for the track team at Jefferson Morgan and the athletes are making an impressive statement early in the season. “I just couldn’t wait for the season to start, long nights had me wondering what could I do this year than what I did last year?,” said Nick Teegarden, on why he loves the sport so much.
Nick is a senior, who has participated in track in the past 3 years and would love to have another great season with not only his teammates but his coaches and assistances.
When asked about the new staff this year Aaron Mylan quoted, “We should have some success this year, knowing that the coaches have been around the sport for a long time.” The new coaching staff includes two veterans, who aren’t new to how the athletes want their season to go, “Mr. Headlee, Mrs. Cochran and Mr. Phillips are just the coaches that this team needs to move in the right direction,” Aaron Mylan also stated about the coaches.
Mylan and Teegarden are just two members, who wish to have one of the best seasons in their career in the sport. The other members are left to decide what they want to do with their season and the new coaches should prove that they have the experience needed to set the team in the motion that it needs to go, like getting someone to the state championships, or maybe getting someone a gold medal.
In conclusion, the track team is on the path to success this year, with the amount of talent that the team possesses, who knows how far someone might go. The coaches wish the team good luck this year and the athletes wish that they could fulfill their dreams of being a successful athlete.
