Student Council President
Jamie Lawerence ran for student council president here at Jefferson-Morgan. She ran against Emma Frank. Frank was “hard to compete with”, Lawerence was surprised that she had won.
This was not the first time Lawerence ran for something here at Jefferson-Morgan. This year she was the secretary for the junior class. “I enjoy being a part of student council and I thought I would be a good fit for president” says Lawerence stating the reason why she ran for president. “I would defiantly run again” she stated.
Lawerence was very surprised she won this time. Running for president was hard for her, she did not know how nervous she would actuall be. Even though Lwerence did not have a catchy slogan she made lots of posters which won enough votes for her to try and make a difference at school. Lawerence even made some eye catching posters like, “Share A Vote With Jamie Lawerence.”
Lawerence is planning to make a difference here at Jefferson. She would like to have a semi formal home coming dance, continue the Powder Puff and to “bring some really fun ideas here at school.” Her first word of advice is “make yourself known; put yourself out there. Do not let your fear ad nervousness hold you back. Set a goal and achieve it.”
