Ben Roethlisberger Thinking of Retirment from the Steelers?
The Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is thinking about his retirement after 13 seasons with the team. Ben is not expected to leave because he would be leaving a championship team and a lot of money. Also Ben is ready to quite being in the league he still has a lot to offer to the team still and can be a winning quarterback for the team.
Ben just finished his 13th season in the NFL and he is not sure what he will do for next season if he will play or not. Ben has the best completion rating in the league but could not get it done last Sunday against the New England Patriots in the conference championship game. Ben just needs some time with his family to make his decision to play another season in the NFL or go into Retirement. Almost everyone in western Pennsylvania wants to see Ben back again next year for the Steelers. “I think Ben should retire because every year he stays in the NFL he will get worse because of his age and defenses will get better over time,” said student at Jefferson-Morgan Justin Silbaugh.
Ben went on Tuesday on 93.7 the Fan radio station to talk about if he is going to keep his career alive in the NFL.“To consider health, and family and things like that and just kind of take some time away to evaluate next season, if there’s going to be a next season.,” said Ben on 93.7 radio and an article by dailygazelle.com . Ben has taken a beating in his 13 seasons on the field with several injuries putting a toll on his body. In all of his seasons only 3 times he has played in all 16 regular season games. ”I Think that Ben will retired because he has been in the league a very long time and also he has taken a beating over the years that has put a toll on his body,” said freshman at Jefferson Morgan Colby Simkovic.
The Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on NFL.com., “[I’m] not too worried about it.” Tomlin said that Ben has thought about retirement in the past, but he will take it seriously because it is his career. “I think that that’s a fair assessment in terms of where he is in his career. I’m not alarmed by it. I just think that that’s football. Obviously, I’m hopeful that he returns. His return obviously and the potential for his return or not returning will weigh heavily in our planning. But I’m not alarmed or surprised by that thought process. That’s life. He’s a significant component, the most significant component of what it is that we do and we’ll plan and react accordingly.” Losing Ben would impact the Steelers game quite significantly.
In conclusion, Ben is undecided if he will return to playing football in the National Football League or will retire from it. Ben will take some time with his decision and will also take some time away from football. If he does happen to retire it will be a huge impact on the whole team.
