National Honor Society Inducts 12 New Members

On Thursday, February 26, 2015, National Honor Society inducted 12 new members.

The new inductees included senior Dejia Jordan, Juniors Emily Babinski, James Barret, Cameron Zeo and William Fath, and Sophomores Erin Confortini, Eva Humphrey, Emma Frank, Jamie Lawerence, Cory Tretinik, Elias Rafail and Nicholas Headley.

Ms. Furnier welcomed parents and friends as well as new inductees.  Mr. Orr and Mrs. Mattish also spoke.

As well as welcoming new inductees, NHS induction also recognizes senior members of the organization.  This year’s seniors are Gavin Koratich (President), Marissa Pochron, Baye Summers, David Blosser (Vice President), Hannah Kozich (Treasurer), Reagan Rush (Secretary), Victoria Conti and Erin Kline.

Speaker for the event was JM alumna Dr. Marie Leichliter-Krause.Dr. Leichliter-Krause earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature  at Waynesburg College, a Masters Degree in Communication studies and Public Relations at California University, and completed her Doctorate in Technology Education/Instructional Design Technology at West Virginia University. She presently serves as an administrator and faculty member of the honors College at West Virginia University.
