Shelby Burkett, a senior at Jefferson-Morgan and the 2019 drum major, was one of the only 206 high school students selected from the almost 800 students nominated to participated in the Ohio State University High School Honor Band.

Over the course of three days and 13 hours of instruction on the Ohio State University campus the students learned 5 concert pieces which they preformed on Sunday afternoon. This was Burkett’s fourth year participating in the high school honor band, she also was selected in 7th and 8th grade for the middle school honor band.
