Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club has selected Emily Teegarden as its student of the month for December.

Daughter of Thomas and Donna Teegarden of Jefferson, Teegarden is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School where she maintains a GPA of  3.9.

Teegarden is a four-year drumline captain. She participates in honors, district, and county choir as well as county band. She is a member of National Honor Society and Academic Team.

Teegarden is a volunteer member of Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Department, and is a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church bell choir and Westminster Girls Singing Ensemble.

In the fall, Teegarden will attend  West Virginia University to study history and theater. She loves animals and would like to help with animal rescue.
