One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is relax on the couch with a steaming mug of hot chocolate while enjoying a Christmas movie. Every night of December, whether I am busy or not, I find time to watch a Christmas movie. The festive plots and Christmas humor really put me in the holiday spirit.

There are many Christmas movies that I would consider my favorite. I honestly do not see how a Christmas movie could be “bad.” The cheesy holiday plots and the Christmas spirit just put me in a good mood. However, there is one movie that I have always enjoyed a little more than any other one. “Home Alone” has been my absolute favorite for as long as I can remember. Each time I watch it, it gets funnier and funnier. There is just something about an eight year old boy fending for himself against two simpleminded men trying to rob his house. One of my favorite scenes from the movie is when the two legendary “Wet Bandits” try to enter the house, while enduring all of Kevin’s booby traps. It never fails to get a laugh.

I am convinced that Home Alone has always been my favorite holiday movie because of my family traditions. Along with “The Grinch”, it is a tradition in my family to sit down a few nights of December and watch “Home Alone” together. Not only is the movie incredibly good to me, it also holds a lot of my Christmas memories.
