On Wednesday April 26th, 2023, the Jefferson-Morgan elementary chorus and band performed a concert in the Jefferson-Morgan high school auditorium.

The band preformed first in the concert, with the chorus following. The band was 5th and 6th grade students in the Jefferson-Morgan elementary. The band played 6 songs each song about a minute long. Some of the songs played were Hot Cross Buns, London BridgeTwinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Deep Pockets. This was Mrs. Svensson’s first band concert as the elementary band director. This portion of the concert lasted about 15 minutes.

“The band is really enjoyable to listen to!” says Elsa Roberts.

During the change between the band leaving and the chorus taking the stage there was a brief pause. As the curtains opened the audience turned there attention to the 5th and 6th grade chorus. The chorus’s theme this year was garage band. Each year there is a theme for the chorus concert, it’s like a little skit with lines, music, and dancing. The kids sang 5 songs following the lines and the theme. Some of the songs sang were We Got the Beat, Twist and Shout, and Livin’ on a Prayer.  This portaion of the concert lasted about 30 minutes.

Julia Cox says, “These kids are definitely dedicated to this performance.”
