One very common New Years tradition that many people come up with are New Years resolutions. These usually include making a list of goals that you have set to reach in 2024, or at least make progress on. Some resolutions people set include setting weight loss goals, getting a new job, or participating in a new activity.
New Years resolutions are a trend that have just never died down. However, more people fall out with their own than actually go through with them. One of the most frequent New Years resolutions are ones that involve weight loss and going to the gym. People will set a goal starting on the first of the year where they will go on a diet or start their new gym routine. According to the IHRSA, 12% of all gym signups occur in January, in comparison to 8.3% during the rest of the year. Another common New Years resolution is saving more money. If that actually works out for you, then you’re truly a dedicated person.
So, with the New Year just starting, it’s time to put those resolutions in to action. Best of luck to those who end up forgetting about them or stop going through by the middle of February.
