Emily Ozohonish named Clarksville Lions Club May Student of the Month
Emily Ozohonish, daughter of Jim and Tracy Ozohonish of Clarksville, is Clarksville Lions Club May Student of the Month. Emily maintains a 3.7 GPA.
Ozohonish is Senior Class President, Envirothon President, yearbook president/editor, and a member of Foreign Language Club, Leo Club, Student Council, Big Brothers Big Sisters, student council, and serves as wrestling statistician. She is a member of the rifle team as well as a member of the Hunting Hills Hawkeyes Shot Gun Team.
As a four year rifle letterman, Emily placed 10th in the WPIAL, and advanced to the PIAA State Rifle Championship. Emily was named Greene Sports Athlete of the week for Rifle and Herald Standard Scholar Athlete. She is an Academic Letterman.
As a member of Leo Club, Emily has rung bells for the Salvation Army, participated in roadside clean up and after school back pack program. Emily also volunteers for functions related to the NRA.
As senior class president, Emily organized a blanket drive and collected over 200 blankets for Rolling Meadows Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
During the summer, Ozohonish is head lifeguard at Carmichael’s pool for the Greene County Department of Recreation and serves as a water safety instructor.
In the fall, Emily plans to attend Waynesburg University to major in nursing. She will continue her education at West Virginia University to become a family nurse practitioner.
