Don’t Waste Leisure Time
Students should spend less time on cellphones and more leisure time on productive activities. Working is a productive activity.
Matthew Shultz said, “I enjoy riding my quad and other things than wasting time on my phone.”
Females spend more time on their phone than males, but males spend more time watching television than females. We have more time to do things productively, but we spend it wastefully. It was found that 3 hours and 28 minutes men spent watching television and women spend 2 hours and 41 minutes. This was found on time.com.
Po Bronson, a writer on time.com stated, “Everyone has about 45 minutes a day of extra leisure time that can be used for productive activities.” You can be reading or doing puzzles. This will develop strategies for problems you could have in the future 10 students were asked the question, ‘Is working a good leisure time activity?’and all the students answered yes to the question. Matthew Shultz was asked to order these activities (watching television/movies, hanging with friends,on their cellphones, and reading) from 1 to 4 with 1 being the best and 4 being the worst. His response was reading, watching tv/movies, cell phone, and last is hanging with friends. He also said that he uses his phone during his free time activities.
Hannah Schaum said, “To pass the time I play on my phone, play volleyball, sleep, and watch television.”
On time.com, the article, “How We Spend Our Leisure Time”, states that people are too stressed out because they spend most of their leisure time watching television and on their phone. This creates stress because it is taking time away from being productive. Sports and other things are good activities in a student’s free time, it is also a good idea to stay calm and play a board game, complete homework, or other work that creates stress.
Students should not do things that waste their time and on activity that will not get anything done or accomplished. If they do, it will create stress and problems for the future. Students should do things that will further their abilities and gain more knowledge. Their activities should prepare them for the future.
