Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club has selected Madelyn VanDivner as its student of the month for May.

A daughter of Nicole and Ralph VanDivner of Rices Landing, VanDivner is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School where she maintains a 3.04 GPA.  She is a member of Jefferson Baptist Church.

VanDivner is a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, SADD, Science Olympiad, Envirothon, and Art Club.  She is Vice President of the Leo Club and President of the Senior Class. VanDivner is a 4-year letterman in both softball and volleyball and a one-year letterman in basketball.  She assists in coaching midget cheerleading.

VanDivner received the athlete of the year award for PA Storm Cheerleading.  She was recently selected to be a member of West Virginia University’s Cheerleading Squad.

VanDivner will attend West Virginia University in the fall to study criminal justice and homeland security.
