Demetrius Johnson is a freshman and a member of the basketball team.

Johnson participates in basketball because it is something he sincerely enjoys and he loves being apart of a team.

“My favorite thing about basketball is everything. I love the sport and the team,” Johnson said.

Basketball can be a challenging sport with difficult aspects. It is very important to stay focused and try your best. Just like any athlete, Johnson has his ups and downs.

“The most challenging thing about basketball is to know exactly what you’re doing at all times, as well as being very familiar with your position,” Johnson said.

Usually, every athlete has a specific person who they look up to. This could be a famous athlete or just another member of the team.

“I look up to my teammate D.L. Garrett because he is an amazing basketball player. I also look up to my coach, Mr. Rob. He is always there for me and a very good coach. I can not wait to play for him,” Johnson said.

As basketball season continues, Johnson is very eager to get on the court. Although he has things to improve on, he is determined to accomplish his goal of playing his best and showing his coach that he is ready for the season!
