Gage Clark – Athlete Biography
Gage Clark is a senior and member of the golf team.
Setting a goal for yourself during or before a season is always a smart idea. Whether it is a small easy to achieve idea or a goal that may take you years, it is best to have something to work up to.
Clark has many goals to accomplish this season, though when prompted he stated, “To qualify at sections and go to regional’s,” is his biggest goal this season. He plans to achieve this goal by “practicing, working hard, and dedicating my time to the game that I love,” which is a great way to think.
When asked what the most rewarding part about being a part of the golf team, Clark took a traditional approach.
Clark stated that the most rewarding part of golf is, “Representing my school and showing everyone what I am capable of doing”.
Within a particular sport one will not always be great at everything that the sport pertains to, such as; putting, driving, keeping score. Clark felt that his weakest skill was actually his mindset and overthinking things.
“I need to stop worrying about things and just play the game,” says Clark.
Going along with that every athlete has a part of the sport that they are particularly good at
Clark feels as though his strongest skill is, chipping and putting, and he got there by, practicing, “My strongest skill is my chipping and putting,” says Clark.
Athletes often continue participating in their sport after high school. Clark stated that he will be continuing to play at the collegiate level. He will be playing at Penn State Fayette.
