Megan Pecjak – Athlete Biography
Megan Pecjak is a freshman and member of the golf team.
Setting a goal for yourself during or before a season is always a smart idea. Whether it is a small easy to achieve idea or a goal that may take you years, it is best to have something to work up to.
Pecjak has many goals to accomplish this season, though when prompted she stated, “my overall goal would have to be to shoot under a 55,” as in finish a game with under fifty five points. She plans to achieve this goal by “practicing until I meet my goal and then make a new one,” which is a great way to think.
When asked what the most rewarding part about being a part of the golf team, Pecjak took a different approach.
Pecjak stated that the most rewarding part of golf is, “when I make a par”.
Within a particular sport one will not always be great at everything that the sport pertains to, such as; putting, driving, keeping score.
Pecjak felt that her weakest skill is actually putting., which she plans to improve through, “practicing putting, and playing put put golf”.
Going along with that every athlete has a part of the sport that they are particularly good at
Pecjak feels as though her strongest skill is, driving, and she got there by, practicing at the driving range. “My strongest skill would have to be driving, I practiced at the driving range. It was difficult at first but I gradually got better,” says Pecjak.
Athletes often continue participating in their sport after high school. Pecjak stated that she would like to continue to play at the collegiate level. She is not sure where at, she would like to see what scholarships she gets offered before deciding.
