Morgan Simkovic – Athlete Biography

Morgan Simkovic is a junior and a member of the volleyball team.

This year is Morgan’s fifth year of volleyball and plays all year round with her club and high school team. “After school season, I play on a club volleyball team throughout the winter to spring. During Spring I condition, then Summer I’m back working with my high school team before the season.” Since training Morgan has continued to work with her coaches and team mates to improve her self on the court. She’s really looking forward to this season.

In addition to playing for Jefferson,  Morgan is a hard working student and puts her classes first in addition to volleyball. She’s lettered her freshman and sophomore year.  Although she does well in school now, being a student athlete is one of the hardest things and she always pushes herself to do better. A goal Simkovic has set, is to play a full six rotations on the court and get at least 200 in season kills.

A memory Morgan holds is one with her team she’ll never forget, “Looking back beating Carmichaels at home was one of the best feelings to accomplish with my team mates. The love of the crowd and the game had our adrenaline pumping until the end.” Also her great words of wisdom are “No matter what, DON’T GIVE UP! Work as hard as you can and the skill will come.”

Next year, Morgan plans on playing volleyball for the Rockets again her senior year. Unfortunately she won’t be tall enough to be a middle hitter in college but, plans on work at another position. She holds her number dear to her heart, plays all year round with her high school team mates, and club team mater.
