Haley Guty is a freshman and a member of the volleyball team.

Guty is a setter and a right side hitter but her favorite position is right side hitter. Guty has very high but a very achievable goal to win sections.

“Being a setter, I have second ball if I can get to it. I am required to set the front row hitters,”  Guty said. “As a hitter my position is 5. If I want the setter to set me I have to call my number,” Guty said her favorite position is right side because “I love to hit!”  and setting is not her favorite because ” I am still learning the plays and rotations,” said Guty. “My goal is to win sections”  she also said “It would be such a good moment in our volleyball career.”  She feels that the team is more than capable to win the section this year.

The best game that Guty has had was against Charleroi and her most memorable moment is when they beat Waynesburg.

“In middle school, it was at a Charleroi  game and I was up to serve and I got eighteen serves in a row,” guty said. “In middle school we had a game against Waynesburg and they were undefeated, but we won the game and they went sixteen and one.”

The game Guty is looking forward to the most is Carmichael’s and another game she is looking forward to is Waynesburg. She has played three seasons and has played outside of school.

“They both are very good teams. I hope we beat them,” Guty said. “This is my third year of volleyball, and yes, I played summer league volleyball in Washington”

After this season, Haley will like to continue the rest of her four years of volleyball because its her favorite sport, and she commits most of her time for volleyball. She just has an all around love for the game and hopes her team this year and future teams are successful.
