Cancellations

When winter rolls around and bad weather strikes, there is only one thing on student’s minds, “is school going to be cancelled?” Students typically enjoy missing school for any reason really, who doesn’t just love sitting around at home when you are supposed to be at school? The positive side of school being cancelled is that it is just a bonus day off in the middle of the week. No one was really expecting it, and now maybe a student has an extra day to study or do homework. It’s just kind of a surprise day off that we get due to bad weather, who would not enjoy it? We all do enjoy of course, until the negative side of cancellations comes about. Which is the makeup days that are tacked on to the end of the school year. After an accumulating amount of days being missed in the middle of winter, schools are eventually going to have to begin making them up. No one really enjoys days from their summer vacation being taken away. Cancellations are fine when it is only one or two, that the school does not have to make up, but after a while it gets to be too much. Is it better to miss random days of school in winter in the cold weather, or get your full summer vacation and enjoy the nice weather? Cancellations have their ups and downs, but really they are only a good thing when they come in few.
