Ways to Watch Movies
Watching movies in theaters has been around since the late 1800’s, and now in today’s society it’s losing its popularity compared to how it was back then. Applications and websites such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon are stealing the competition away from the movie theaters, and allowing people to watch their favorite movie from their couches.
Netflix is just one of the many ways to watch your favorite movie right at home instead of having to dress up and go to your local theater. “The only thing keeping movie theaters alive still is the temptation of popcorn,” said Austin DeFrank. Theaters though get to view the movies earlier than what a Netflix user. Netflix is worth the wait because movie theaters are dirty, next time you go to the theaters, look around; the uncleanliness is masked by the food that they sell.
“Netflix is the only way to watch movies anymore if you could stay home and watch a movie,” said Jacob VanDivner. Staying home and not leaving is the new American way of being. Waiting is better than going to a gross theater that probably hasn’t been clean since the roaring 20’s.
Netflix is becoming the newest and one of the biggest ways to watch movies, and your favorite TV series. Netflix is becoming almost as big as the theater industry. Even though Netflix rakes in $900 million a month from its streaming service, it’s a small company of only 2,000 employees.
Movie theaters are still big business in the U.S, but the small company named Netflix is taking over, allowing people to stay inside if their homes and watch TV.
