Night at the Races
On November 7th at the Jefferson Volunteer Fire hall the softball team held a fund raiser. The fund raiser was called “Night at the Races”. Brooke Diamond and Autumn Tedrow where two girls, from the softball team, who were interviewed about this event.
The Night at the Races is where people from all over get together to have a fun time. They do things like eat and hang out; they even bet on horses to raise and or win some money.
Brooke Diamond was asked some question regarding this event. Diamond is a fellow softball player for Jefferson Morgan. One question she was asked was what exactly is this fund raiser for? Diamond said “We’re raising money to go to Myrtle Beach again. We went last year which was pretty successful.” Last time they done this fund raiser they raised over $ 1,000 which was enough to go.
This year their plan and goal is to raise way more money then what they had last year. The softball team does other things to raise money. Those things are tag day at either Walmart or Giant Eagle and they sell tickets. So far they had made enough money to go to Myrtle.
Autumn Tedrow is another former softball player for Jefferson Morgan and was also asked some questions. One question was why exactly are they going to Myrtle? Tedrow said “The whole point of going to Myrtle is so that they get some scrimmage time before the season starts. Also just to have some fun with the team and play softball.” Going to Myrtle is pretty much a bonding session to get to know each other and get the feel of the way things are going to go and such.
I would like to wish the softball team good luck with Myrtle and with the entire season in general. All of you have come so far.
