Makenzie Wright – Athlete Biography
Makenzie Wright is a sophomore and member of the women’s basketball team.
Wright has been a member of the basketball team for six years but has been playing since before then.
“I went to my sister’s practice and I fell in love with the game,” says Wright.
Advice can be uplifting or tear you down, for Wright the best advice she has ever received would be, “Basketball is easy if you understand the game mentally, even if your skills are poor.” Wright had a few words of advice for the younger JM Middle School basketball team.
“Understand the game more mentally than physically,” advised Wright.
Wrights most rewarding game and their most challenging rivals would have to be against California, last season.
“Last year it was definitely California, but because they are no longer in our section, I would say it is West Greene,” says Wright.
Five thing you might find in Wrights basketball bag are:
- “Body Spray, I always have some kind of spray or perfume.”
- “A book, especially for long trips and away games.”
- “Headphones, I like to listen to music to get in my ‘game zone’.”
- “My iPhone charger, I can’t let my phone die.”
- “Food, you have to recharge after a game.”
Basketball is a family sport and sophomore Makenzie Wright is happy to be a part of the team. She enjoys playing and giving the members of the middle school team tips along the way.
