Emily Gipe is a freshman and a member of the rifle team.

Gipe has been participating in rifle for three months and began participating because she thought it would be a fun experience.

“My favorite memory from this season would be when we took our pictures and everyone was complaining about the snow,” said Gipe. “We were just having a good time standing close to the heater.”

The best advice Gipe has been given by a coach or mentor would be when her coach told her to look away and read the writing on the block when her eyes get fuzzy.

For anyone thinking of joining the rifle team Emily says, “Don’t get discouraged when you first start. You won’t get 100’s when you first start shooting. Just keep practicing and you’ll do fine.”
