Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club has selected Jessie Wei as its student of the month for September.

A daughter of Cai Ping Zheng and You Li Wei of Rices Landing, Wei is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School where she maintains a 4.39 GPA.

Wei is secretary of  student council. She is also a member of National Honor Society, Leo Club, Library Club, Drama Club, Foreign Language Club, SADD, Academic Team, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Upward Bound. She is a four-year member of the volleyball team. Outside of school, Wei takes piano lessons and dances for Deborah’s School of Dance.

Wei participates in the Keep America Beautiful roadside cleanup camp campaign, packs backpacks for the school’s weekend food program, and rings bells for the Salvation Army.

In the fall, Wei plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to major in Biology.
