Asking Alexandria – Splitting Up With Denis Stoff

More stories from Emily Palone

Asking Alexandria is my absolute favorite band.  I love the music which people find old since its screamo and not the typical singing. If I had to describe screamo is just the singer screaming a scary voice. People would never have guessed I would be into that music genre. On October 22, Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce confirmed that the band parted ways with the new singer, Denis Shaforstov and reunited with the old singer, Danny Worsnop.  Since Bruce and Worsnop publicly ended their beef with each other in mid-September, both musicians we’re able to finally let it go.

Early that day on October 22, Bruce finally broke his silence about Asking Alexandria’s current status in a live video chat on the band’s Facebook page. Bruce began by saying that the band had parted ways with Denis, and there are a number of reasons for that.

Denis wasn’t kicked out of the band; he just stopped talking to the other bands member after the songs were recorded. Denis went back to Ukraine where he originally came from in the beginning. The band was left in big trouble and had to decide whether to end Asking Alexandria or not, the band that they’ve worked so hard for for the last decade.

What I love most about this music and the band is that is different compared to every other artist. I like to be different so therefor Asking Alexandria draws me attention more. Denis Stoff came into the band and he was amazing, loved his unique voice.  The band had picked ourselves up off the floor and continued going. Danny Wornsop is now the lead singer once again and Asking Alexandria is back to the way they started in 2006 with the original members. I’m looking forward to see the new album they come up with and the story behind it in the nest couple of months.
