Rushing to Christmas
I always wonder why right after Halloween people are all about Christmas. A lot of people just skip over Thanksgiving, and pretend that it is not there. For a while, I just thought the worst of people. People are wanting Christmas because that means people get presents. Now I know that is not true at all. Many people have horrible family lives, but when Christmas comes around everyone tries to be happy for just one day. It is a time to see family and just be happy. I always wonder if people want Christmas because it means everyone they know is not arguing for one day.
People get divorces, families are separated, and feelings are hurt. In some cases people hardly get to see one of their parents. Whether that is for better or for worse, not having that bond hurts. Christmas is a major holiday; so many times families are forced to be brought together. No matter the circumstances, people love Christmas because families are “acting” like real families. Parents, no matter the issues they have going on, try their best to keep their children happy on Christmas. Christmas brings happiness to everyone and hope for those who have lost all faith.
Christmas is a time for giving, and seeing the smiling faces of everyone. Especially those who thought it would be another presentless Christmas. Giving to others makes the giver happy. I personally, love to shop for my family, especially for my parents. Parents work all year round, and ask nothing in return, but their child’s love and happiness. So, giving my parents a gift that they have wanted for a while makes me joyous. They do so much for me, and giving back even a little makes me happy. I am not obligated to give them a present; they always say they do not want one, yet I personally feel they deserve a gift.
Christmas is the one day out of every year everyone tries to be happy. No arguments, no crying, just happiness. People hurry Christmas along because it is the one day families are happy, and people are happy.
