Battling Boredom
Being bored is one of the worst feelings in the world. It is also something I deal with hourly. Being bored makes me lose the creativity, patience and excitement that I use to get through every day. As soon as I get bored, anything I do becomes a lot less interesting. I end up wishing the day would just be over, and that hopefully tomorrow will be more interesting. Some classes bore me so much I end up falling asleep, when I wake up I am wondering how the class is not over already.
Over the weekend, I wonder what to do. Sometimes when my life is busy, the weekend comes along and my life ends up coming to a complete halt only to come back to me to in slow motion. On other occasions, I try to force myself to get out of bed, and actually walk around even if it is just a little. I am always looking for a way to fight my boredom. A small little activity to do, like going to get lunch with my mom or calling up an old friend, usually helps me get through the day.
During school, I try to make my classes more interesting. If I am falling asleep, I start wondering about what I am looking forward to later that day or that week. Some classes I talk with my friends which are a great way to solve boredom, until the teacher decides that we should probably start paying attention. The only time I like not having anything to do is when I have a ton of homework. That way, I do not have to worry about not finishing it or being too lazy to do it. Although, boredom, is inevitable, and I will always have to think of new ways to overcome it.
