Nerves

I have always had trouble paying attention to the things I am doing. Even something I enjoy, like reading, my brain tends to think about something else. During class it is the worst, because unless the teacher is entertaining, I get distracted very easily. I struggle to keep my attention on what am I doing, unless I do something else at the same time. When writing, I listen to music, so I do not get distracted by other noises, and my brain is preoccupied by something. It also helps me to calm down. Then I can concentrate on what I am doing.

I have now tried to do two things at the same time. If I am in class, I tap my fingers or draw circles on my desk, so I can focus. Letting out energy, is a great way to calm nerves. Most people tend to tap their fingers or shake their legs when they are extremely nervous. It is a bodily function to calm people down, and help shake the anxiety they feel, off. People tend to call it hyperactivity or running on a motor. Everyone deals with nerves differently, even if they do not have to fidget all the time.

Have you ever been so excited you could not stop talking, or ever have you ever been so nervous your body just starts to shake? Many people who deal with nerves occasionally just brush them off. They do not even notice that they are being hyperactive. For others who deal with it constantly, there are multiple ways they deal with it. Some people use inventions that have been made for these exact situations. While others just act out or fidget constantly. Dealing with nerves is something we all do, and we all deal with them in different ways.
