Thanksgiving Black Friday Deals!
Thanksgiving is an important, nationally recognized American holiday. The first Thanksgiving was held in the year 1621, when the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians had a feast at Plymouth. Ever since, the holiday has been recognized by schools and workplaces, and it is tradition to gather with your family and have a feast of food in remembrance of what we are thankful for.
One tradition of Thanksgiving, though, is not a fan favorite to those working in retail. Black Friday is the holiday the day after Thanksgiving in which stores nationwide have their biggest sales of the year. The issue with this is that stores have began opening earlier and earlier, now starting on Thanksgiving. Some stores open for Black Friday sales as early as 2:00 p.m., before most people have eaten their family dinner.
For those who have to work on Thanksgiving, there is no time to enjoy the holiday. Employees feel that Black Friday deals should begin on Black Friday.
