10 Things I Hate About You is a 1999 romance/comedy film that is based off of the well known Shakespeare play The Taming of the Shrew. The movie stars Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. It was originally released on March 31, 1999.

The movie follows the two Stratford sisters, and their polar opposite views of love. While Bianca is the romantic type, she finds herself unable to date due to Kat’s lack of interest in dating. However, a boy’s interest will help set up a deal in which he pays someone to take out Kat, so he can take out Bianca. Throughout the movie, it shows the growing, changing personality of Kat which allows the audience to fall further in love with the seemingly perfect couple. However, the deal comes into light which leaves Kat and her relationship into question. Truly, this movie is easygoing and playful. It includes extremely funny moments shared between the characters. It also adds a modern twist onto a Shakespearean play. Overall, this is such a great movie. It is the type of movie that can be played over and over again without growing tired of it.
