The Thrill of the Black Widow Bite

The Black Widow is thrill ride located in Kennywood Park Pennsylvania.

The Black Widow is my favorite ride at Kennywood. The ride is always closed, however the Kennywood website has said they have started the test runs and will be opening the ride during the 2024 season. The Black Widow first debuted at Kennywood Park in 2012, the ride is still in operation and a fan favorite in 2024. The ride can seat 40 people at a time. I love waiting in line for this ride because the line goes so much faster than a roller coaster. The Black Widow can seat so many more people than an average roller coaster or ride. The pandelum will swing and get to top heights of 146 feet high, and the top speed of 68mph during this ride. In order to enjoy this ride you must meet the height requirement, which is 52″ to ride alone, or if you are under you can ride with an adult if you are 46″ or taller. Thanking I make the height requirement for this ride.

On April 20th 2024 the park will officially open. I’m super excited about going to Kennywood this year with my friends on a hot summer day. This ride will be operating on opening day, which is also super exciting since this ride seems like it’s always down or they don’t have people to run it. The line for the Black Widow is located in a “cave” which is just really a indoor little area that is painted with cool neon and glowy colors. I totally think the wait, however long it is, is worth the time spent. The ride lasts for only 3 minutes so therefore the line goes by really quickly.

When I go to Kennywood doing the 2024-2025 season I will be riding the Black Widow as many times possible.
