Finding the Flow Again

Winter break for school is usually around two weeks, which is nice for everyone. It is a great time to recuperate, and relax after a few months of hard work. There is no scheduled time to get up or fall asleep, and a lot of people besides the athletes have a pretty easy break. There are some negatives to having such a long break, and people deal with all of them differently.

One of the most difficult parts about coming off a long break is getting back into the swing of working. Being lazy at school for even three days could cause a drop in someone’s grades, so coming off break students need to be prepared to learn and work especially with midterms two weeks after break.

“I just take every day back from break one at a time,” senior Nicholas Headley said. “There is a lot of trouble with getting back to doing work daily, and there are no easy parts of coming back to school.”

Coming off a long break, people are no longer used to writing long essays or having homework due on certain days with no extended deadlines. Even with all the cons there are some pros to coming back to school.

“I look forward to at least being able to do something with my day,” Headley commented.

Like everything in life, break does not last forever. Eventually people have to come back and continue on with their lives. It is a sad time, and quite difficult, but you have to do what you have to do. It even means coming back to school or vacation, after such a long and nice time. There are parts someone will miss more than others as well.

“I miss being able to relax and not worry about doing work and turning work in on a certain day,” Headley said.
