ASVAB Testing
The Armed Services Aptitude Battery or ASVAB for short, is a test for the military. All sophomores who are present on the day the test is taken must take the test. The test is given to see the aptitude a student has for being accepted into the armed sources. Although the test is given for military purposes, it does show what career could be best for the student. The test is mandatory and if you miss the day of the test you are required to make it up.
If a student does not know what they want to do in the future, the test could help the student decide, or open up new doors. The test could be very helpful to anyone who takes the ASVAB and should be taken with all seriousness. The test could be very helpful for everyone.
“I do not have any hopes for what my results would be but I am curious to see what the results will be. They could be useful but I do not have the results. I also do not think it will affect my decision at all.” stated Makayla McNett, a sophomore that took the test this year.
The test could also just be taken for military and see what the student may need work on to be accepted. To be accepted, the military is looking for certain categories to be high, and by taking the ASVAB the student can see what topics are weak.
“I will not take them again my senior year because I have no intention of going to the military. I have no reason to take them again and I am just waiting for results at the time,” said McNett.
The results are not in and McNett thinks that she is not going to be changed by them anyways. She has her mind set and is planning on what to do next.
